Venetian Marble Plaster
Venetian marble plaster – sometimes referred to as polished plaster, or stucco – is a specialist decorative plaster technique.
Using a traditional material comprising lime, marble dust and/or other natural additives, this plaster is applied over a primer and basecoat. Depending on the precise ratio of marble dust to lime, Venetian marble plasters can be applied to walls and ceilings with specialist techniques and tools to achieve a variety of stunning finishes, ranging from the highly polished ‘Marmorino’, to the more natural looking, stone-like, textured ‘Travertino’ effect.
Finished, or sealed, with a protective natural wax later, Venetian marble plaster provides a lasting and natural decorative feature. It is applied only mm in thickness and so is lightweight and needs no periodic maintenance, unlike painted or wall papered walls.
